Dexter Racers Capture Championship
ZALMA - Traveling sports teams are all the craze these days.  It's a very busy lifestyle for these families, yet it's filled with lots of fun and rewards for everyone.

A group to keep your eyes on in the future is the Dexter Racers, a third grade traveling team.  The Racers have been dominant against their opponents this season, posting a 9-0 record.

This weekend, the Racers traveled to Zalma for a tournament; the Racers opened things up with a victory over Delta.

The Racers found a tough opponent in the second round, when they faced off against Popar Bluff.  The Racers battled hard and were able to emerge with a victory.

This (mostly) third grade group is filled with incredible talent and shows a lot of promise for the future.  You can bet that basketball runs through the veins of these boys.  You might recognize a few of the names - Sitze (the lone second grader of the group), Allen and Boles.

The team is filled with other players that come from highly athletic families, with some getting their greatest influence from their mom's athletic talents.  One thing is certain - they can play basketball.

If you get a chance to watch these young men in action, you will figure out that they mean business.  They do an excellent job of playing unselfish, team-oriented basketball.  They have a surprising way of seeing the open man on the floor and working the ball for the easy basket.

For these young boys to remain close and together as a team is the greatest hope for their future successes. There is a tremendous amount of time dedicated to a travel team, but the rewards are already being experienced with great results these boys are getting on the court.

Congratulations to the young Bearcats on their championship!
